on the farm

The day after the race we got to meet our namesake alpacas and tour the farm which was definitely a highlight!

This is DG attempting to feed them. I think he got more food spit at him than he actually managed to get in their mouths. But it was pretty entertaining.

Another closeup:
Thanks again to the Vermont Alpaca Co for having us and for the great brunch!

blog about the blog

Yeah, as DG mentioned we couldn't actually update things as we hoped to. That large cell dead zone in the middle of the state was basically where we were running, so no contact with the outside world. Also when we did have service I thought it'd be more entertaining to send picture messages than plain texts, blogger however negged them and they disappeared into the ether. I may try and get some of them back, but at least we know for next time.

All done and All Alive

Sorry for the lack of updates, but we had some issues sending messages from our phones. Everyone made it thru and we finished in about 13 hours. After a night at Okemo, we made our way to the Vermont Alpaca Company Farm, our generous sponsors, for a wonderful brunch. Everyone is sore, but back in their respective hometowns. Until next year ............

I can't believe I'm saying this...

But I really want to do this again next year! I had so much fun with all of you - thanks for a good time and all your support during my legs. See you next year, alpaca!

Stuck at the Airport

Delayed at least 3 hours here at JFK - would be faster if we were riding alpacas up the Northway to Burlington! Hope for no NYC storms!!

good times in the ap

That's your basic Friday afternoon 2 hour delay. Rumor has it the NYC crew is equally delayed. See you in B-town at some point!

Visualize

Really hoping the NYC and DC crew don't have an issue flying out today - I am as nervous as Carson is about his 3rd leg .... Well, maybe not that nervous. See you all in V-Mont!

Alpaca lovin! just making sure

Hogan,
Great work setting up the blog.  I have big news:  I crushed my PR in bacon consumption today by having it for breakfast and lunch!  I am really looking forward to Saturday...it will be a blast (well except for the last leg!).

Team Vermont Alpaca Co.

Team VAC will be ready to roll this weekend. Jill and Julie walked 60 miles this weekend for Breast Cancer and are looking forward to some running this weekend!
